Sitting just one tier below the top flight, the MFA Super League serves as a vital bridge between Mumbai's grassroots and elite professional football. The expansive competition features approximately 40 ambitious clubs divided into multiple groups for a grueling round-robin phase. The most consistent squads advance to the playoffs, often culminating in a dramatic "Super Six" battle. The stakes are incredibly high: top-performing teams earn a coveted promotion to the prestigious Men's Premier League, while the lowest-ranked face relegation to the First Division. This unforgiving environment provides an essential platform for emerging talent and captures the raw passion of Mumbai football.
